This is the SE5a aircraft flown by Ernest Edgar Davies 2 Squadron Australian Flying Corps in November 1918. Davies had been a member of the Lighthorse before transferring to the AFC. Previous to hostilities he was a practising barrister and solicitor in Swan Hill, Victoria. Davies achieved seven victories while with 2 Squadron.
Davies claimed four victories with E5769 in November of 1918, including three in one day on the 4th of November 1918. On the 1st of November Davies claimed an LVG as out of control near Antoing. On the 4th of November Davies claimed an LVG destroyed in the morning and in an afternoon patrol claimed two Fokker DVII scouts out of control.
This profile is taken from a photograph of D/379 and E5765 of A Flight being serviced near Lille, November 1918. Note the white wheel covers on the SE5a, Davies was a Captain and Flight Leader of A Flight by November and the white wheels may well have been used for ease of recognition with other flight members.
