Now reading, The Day of the Barbarians.
The book focuses on how the Romans handled the Gothic refugees on their northern border. Books are always sold within some grand narrative staging of history such that every point is pivotal. This is no exception as it is billed as, "the battle that led to the fall of the Roman Empire". As Terry Jones argued in a documentary series the barbarians of times past were heavily Romanized. It will be interesting to see how a historian, as opposed to a marketer, looks at this issue.
