The Lightning Car Company from Britain is promising an electric sports car in the same manner as Tesla is with new battery technologies powering it.

The company is touting that their NanoSafe battery technology is what will differentiate the Lightning from other electric cars. From their tech page the batteries use titanate instead of graphite and have a twelve year life cycle and better charge holding capabilities.
Batteries is one area where there has not been a Moore's Law style of exponential improvement.
Modern fabrication techniques will tweak more and more efficiency out of batteries as quality, accuracy and the detail of fabrication that can be done is improved by automation and digital improvements. Now that electrical storage is being focused on again it will be interesting to see what entrepreneurs, companies, inventors and universities come up with to solve those issues.
